Background and Scope
---------------------

While large language models (LLMs) offer to become a viable alternative to traditional rule-based data-to-text (D2T) natural language generation (NLG), they still suffer from well-known neural model issues, such as lack of controllability and risk of producing harmful text. There are many potential solutions to this problem up for discussion.

We invite submissions of papers describing ideas for future shared tasks in the general area of language generation (Generation Challenges 2024). Proposed tasks can be in the area of core NLG, or in other research areas in which language is generated. Examples include, but are not limited to: data-to-text NLG, text-to-text generation (including MT and summarisation), combining core NLG and MT, combining core NLG and text summarisation, NLG quality estimation, NLG evaluation metrics, and/or generating language from heterogeneous data, including image and video.

With the recent advances in the field of Computational Linguistics (CL) brought on by rapid developments in neural models, the goal of this conference is to focus on the application of AI/ML in NLP and CL. The ACLing 2024 aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, researchers and practitioners from all over the world to exchange new ideas and the latest results in Computational Linguistics and NLP; a field that has become increasingly important. The scope of the conference encompasses the theory and practice of all aspects of AI/ML in Computational Linguistics. The British University in Dubai has been chosen to organize the ACLing2024 conference because it has a mission for establishing itself as a provider of world class scholarship, education and research.

We are collecting interests for the GEM v3 "flash" shared task, which will focus on text summarisation and data-to-text generation in a variety of languages. The submission deadline is expected to be around the end of September 2023, and we will provide a human evaluation of each participant’s main submission in the following weeks. 5th Werewolf AI Competition (INLG 2023 Gerenation Challenge)
Call For Participation

# Summary:

Werewolf is a social, hidden identity game that requires debate between players and coalition building. The goal of our AIWerewolf contest is to build an AI agent that is able to play this game against other AI.

We provide three divisions, the Natural Langauge Division, the Protocol Division, and the Infrastructure Division. Their regsitration deadlines are as follows:
Natural Language Division: June 30th, 2023 (Anywhere on Earth)
Protocol Division: July 21st, 2023 (Anywhere on Earth)
Infrastructure Division: August 18th, 2023 (Anywhere on Earth)
Presetation of Results: September 11th-15th (in INLG 2023)

Our shared task is one of the Generation Challenges (GenChal) of INLG 2023 (16th International Natural Language Generation Conference), which will be held in Prague from September 11th to 15th, but it is not mandatry for our shared task participants to attend the INLG 2023 conference.

Call for new Shared Task proposals
Submission deadline: June 5th 2023

Rapid advances in generative models for both language and vision have made these models increasingly popular in both the public and private sectors. For example, governments use generative models such as chatbots to better serve citizens. As such, it is critical that we not only evaluate whether these models are safe enough to deploy, but also ensure that the evaluation systems themselves are reliable. Oftentimes, humans are used to evaluate these models. Our goal is to call attention to the discussion on how to best perform reliable human evaluations of generative models.
