RANLP (Recent Advances in Natural Language Processing) is one of the most competitive and influential NLP conferences. The event is held biennially and traditionally includes pre-conference tutorials, main conference with Student Research Workshop, and post-conference specialised workshops.

RANLP 2019 will host a two-day Summer School on Deep Learning in NLP, to be held on 29 and 30 August 2019. The summer school will feature main lectures and hands-on practical sessions. We are pleased to announce Kyunghyun Cho (New York University) and Hinrich Schütze (Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich) among the main speakers of the summer school.

Also, the 3rd edition of the two-day conference “Biographical Data in Digital World 2019” will be co-located with RANLP and will take place on 5 and 6 September.

Four half-day tutorials will take place on 31 August and 1 September 2019. These include Fact checking (Truth Seeking in the Age of Disinformation) by Preslav Nakov (Qatar Computing Research Institute) and Neural Machine Translation by Antonio Miceli Barone (University of Edinburgh) and Sheila Castilho (Dublin City University).

All RANLP conferences feature keynote talks by leading experts in NLP. The confirmed keynote speakers at RANLP 2019 include Kenneth Church (Baidu USA), Hinrich Schütze (Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich) and Kyunghyun Cho (New York University).
