RANLP 2011 Second Call for Papers
RANLP (Recent Advances in Natural Language Processing) is one of the most established and competitive NLP conferences. The 8th RANLP conference will be held in Augusta hotel, Hissar, Bulgaria (12-14 September 2011). The conference will take the form of addresses from invited keynote speakers plus presentations of peer-reviewed individual papers. There will also be an exhibition area for poster and demo sessions. The conference will be preceded by two days of tutorials (10-11 September 2011). Post-conference workshops will be held on 15-16 September 2011.

BioNLP 2011 is the tenth workshop on biomedical natural language processing being held in conjunction with the annual ACL or NAACL meeting. BioNLP 2011 will be held at the ACL/HLT 2011 meeting in Portland, Oregon, under the auspices of SIGBIOMED, the ACL's special interest group for biomedical natural language processing. The meeting will be held June 23-24, 2011.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Research in NLP applications for education continues to progress using innovative NLP techniques - statistical, rule-based, or most commonly, a combination of the two. New technologies have made it possible to include speech in both assessment and Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS). NLP techniques are also being used to generate assessments and tools for curriculum development of reading materials, as well as tools to support assessment and test development.
