The BioASQ challenge aims to push for a solution to the information access problem of biomedical experts. It will evaluate the ability of systems to perform various tasks in the biomedical QA process:
1. large-scale classification of biomedical documents onto ontology concepts (semantic indexing),

A wide range of summarization approaches for news have been developed and tested on large reference datasets provided by the Document Understanding Conferences (DUC) and the current Text Analysis Conference (TAC), and both manual and automatic evaluation measures have been developed and validated for this genre.
