The ACL-SIGHAN10 workshop is scheduled to be held from August 11 to 16, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand, in conjunction with the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL-2024).
In an increasingly interconnected world, the significance of Chinese language processing continues to rise. As one of the most widely used languages, Chinese presents unique challenges and opportunities within the current research of artificial intelligence. Effective Chinese language processing acts as a gateway to vast markets and cultural exchanges, fostering global collaboration and understanding. It serves as a crucial tool for bridging linguistic divides and unlocking the rich textual heritage and contemporary content in Chinese. This workshop will focus on the challenges faced in Chinese language processing, especially in the context of the technological breakthroughs in large language models, to explore how Chinese-specific tasks can be optimized for more effective understanding and generation of Chinese text.
To encourage researchers to submit higher-quality papers, the workshop will establish a Best Paper Award and a Best Student Paper Award, based on the nominations of the reviewers and extensive discussions among the chairs. By default, all accepted papers will be presented in the form of posters, with high-quality papers selected for oral presentation and recommended to the following international journals:
1) International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernetics. (IF 5.6)
2) Data Intelligence. (IF 3.9)
The workshop encourages cross-submission of papers. Papers from other natural language processing, machine learning, and information retrieval conferences are welcome to be submitted to ACL SIGHAN10. Accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and acknowledged with the original publication conference, but will not be included in the workshop proceedings.
If researchers have not yet decided on an official conference to submit their paper, we invite consideration of ACL-SIGHAN 10. Authors have the option to indicate at the time of submission whether they wish for their paper to "not be included in the proceedings." This option allows authors to present their work at the workshop for greater academic exchange and impact, while also providing the possibility for future formal submission. However, please note that papers excluded from the proceedings will not be eligible for journal recommendations.
Additionally, SIGHAN 10 offers an evaluation task, Dimension-based Chinese Aspect-level Sentiment Analysis (https://dimabsa2024.github.io/). The evaluation reports completed by participating teams, after review and revision, will also be included in the workshop proceedings. The organizing committee will select a Best Evaluation Paper Award based on the evaluation performance and the quality of the evaluation paper. At the same time, high-quality evaluation papers will also be recommended to the New Advances in Affective Computing special issue of the "Electronics" journal (IF 2.9).
Paper submission deadline: 27th May 2024 (anywhere on earth)
