Call for Papers, Main Conference

COLING 2022 invites the submission of long and short papers featuring substantial, original, and unpublished research in all aspects of natural language and computation. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, the following (in alphabetical order):
- Applications (including BioNLP and eHealth, NLP for legal purposes, NLP for Social Media and Journalism, etc.)
- Dialogue and Interactive Systems
- Discourse and Pragmatics
- Document classification, topic modeling, information retrieval and cross-lingual retrieval
- Ethics and NLP
- Language Modeling
- Information Extraction, Text Mining, and Knowledge Graph Derivation from Texts
- Language Resources and Evaluation
- CL/NLP and Linguistic Theories, Cognitive Modeling and Psycholinguistics
- Machine Learning for CL/NLP
- Machine Translation and translation aids
- Morphology and Word Segmentation
- Offensive speech detection and analysis
- Semantics
- Sentiment Analysis, Opinion and Argument Mining
- Speech recognition and synthesis and spoken language understanding
- Natural Language Generation, Summarization and Simplification
- Tagging, Chunking, Syntax and Parsing
- Textual Inference and Question Answering
- Vision, Robotics, Multimodal and Grounded Language Acquisition

Papers targeting any of these topics from the perspective of the Sustainability Goals of the UN are especially welcome. In order to promote research in Computational Linguistics that contributes to sustainable development, COLING 2022 will define a number of Grand Challenges for which best paper awards will be granted.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

COLING 2022 invites submissions of up to nine (9) pages maximum, excluding references, for long papers, and four (4) pages, excluding references, for short papers. For both types of papers, the abstract should be no more than 200 words.
Long papers must describe substantial, original, completed, and unpublished work. Papers describing experimental results should include an evaluation and its analysis, preferably from the linguistic perspective. Short papers should describe a small focused contribution.
For submissions, COLING’2022 templates will be provided in LaTeX and Microsoft Word formats. Submissions will only be accepted in PDF format. Deviations from the provided templates will result in rejection without review.
