2018 n2c2 Shared-Task and Workshop
Announcement and Call for Participation
https://n2c2.dbmi.hms.harvard.edu
We are excited to announce the second round of the CoNLL shared task in parsing Universal Dependencies!
Natural Language Generation (NLG) is in the ascendant both as a stand-alone data-to-text or text-to-text task and as part of downstream applications (see, e.g., abstractive summarization, dialogue-based interaction, question answering, etc.). Only in 2017, three “deep” NLG shared tasks that focused on language generation from abstract semantic representations have been organized: WebNLG, SemEval Task 9 , E2E.
FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
NAACL 2018 Workshop on Figurative Language Processing
including a shared task on metaphor detection
New Orleans, Louisiana, USA – June 5 or 6, 2018
https://sites.google.com/site/figlangworkshop/
Submission deadline: March 12, 2018
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Semantic Textual Similarity (STS) measures the degree of equivalence in the underlying semantics of paired snippets of text. While making such an assessment is trivial for humans, constructing algorithms and computational models that mimic human level performance represents a difficult and deep natural language understanding problem. The 2017 STS shared task involves multilingual and cross-lingual evaluation of Arabic, Spanish and English data as well as a surprise language track to explore methods for cross-lingual transfer.
2016 CEGS N-GRID Shared-Tasks and Workshop on Challenges in Natural Language Processing for Clinical Data
Tentative Timeline
Registration: begins May, 2016
Data Release for Sight Unseen Track: 6th June 2016
System Outputs Due for Sight Unseen Track: 10th June 2016
Training Data Release: 11th June 2016
Test Data Release: 10th August 2016 (12am Eastern Time)
System Outputs Due: 12th August 2016 (11:59pm Eastern Time)
Abstract Submission: 1st September 2016
Workshop: TBD
You are invited to participate in the CL-SciSumm Shared Task at BIRNDL 2016. The shared task will be on automatic paper summarization in the Computational Linguistics (CL) domain. The output summaries will be of two types: faceted summaries of the traditional self-summary (the abstract) and the community summary (the collection of citation sentences ‘citances’). We also propose to group the citances by the facets of the text that they refer to.

SIGMORPHON 2016 Shared Task: Morphological Reinflection
-------------------------------------------------------
Morphological analysis and generation of previously unseen word forms is a fundamental problem in NLP the accuracy of which is crucial for the success of many downstream tasks. Learning morphological inflection patterns from labeled data is a current challenge that is addressed by a number of papers published in various ACL-related venues.
