This workshop will focus on developing parsers for Uniform Meaning Representations. The goal is to start from raw text from real-world settings that could be in any one of many typologically different languages, even low-resource languages for which there is little or no training data. This can be achieved by exploiting a common semantic annotation standard.

Call for Papers: The Fifth International Workshop on Designing Meaning Representations (DMR 2024) - "Marthaverse of Meaning"

DMR 2024 will be co-located with LREC-COLING 2024 (the 2024 Joint International Conference on Computational Linguistics, Language Resources and Evaluation), 20-25 May, 2024 at the Lingotto Conference Centre, Torino, Italy. DMR 2024 will be a hybrid event (real-time virtual participation allowed), but in-person participation is encouraged.

DubDial will be the 26th edition of the SemDial workshop series, which aims to bring together researchers working on the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue in fields such as formal semantics and pragmatics, computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience.

Depling 2021 will be held at the SyntaxFest in Sofia, during the week of March 21-March 25, 2022. The event will be held online, face-to-face or hybrid, depending on the health situation. The proceedings will be published preemptively, in December 2021.

The Natural Language Inferencing (NLI) task has been central to track progress towards understanding natural language. Current state-of-the-art Deep Learning-based NLI methods achieve very high accuracy, but have been shown to generalize poorly, often in simpler examples — indicating lack of reasoning capabilities. On the other hand, neuro-symbolic methods can do robust reasoning, but extensions of such methods are hard for tasks with a large range of linguistic variability.

As part of a proposal to develop the VoxML modeling language into an ISO Standard for the representation of visual information, the 17th Joint ACL-ISO Workshop on Interoperable Semantic Annotation (ISA) is hosting a shared multimodal annotation. The goal of the task is to assess annotation techniques suitable for extracting habitats, affordances, and spatial relations of objects from image data.
