We are excited to invite researchers and practitioners from HCI, occupational therapy, education, AI, healthcare, design, and related fields to participate in our workshop on "Designing for Children's Participation in Everyday Life: Bridging HCI and Occupational Therapy through Roles and Contexts."

The workshop, will be held at the 14th Nordic Conference on Human–Computer Interaction (NordiCHI 2026) in Vaasa, Finland, explores children's participation as involvement in meaningful everyday life situations. Bringing together perspectives from Human–Computer Interaction and Occupational Therapy, we aim to rethink how interactive systems can support children's engagement across home, school, play, and community contexts.

During this full-day workshop, participants will:
- Explore how children's participation is conceptualized across HCI, occupational therapy, and related disciplines
- Analyze real-world cases involving children's roles as students, friends, and players
- Co-design participation-centered technologies and design strategies
- Develop an interdisciplinary roadmap for future research on children's participation and inclusive technologies

How to participate: Simply submit an expression of interest or any form of submissions to contribute to the programme of the workshop!
