I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Bath, where I am part of the AI research group. I conduct research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, natural language processing and intelligent tutoring systems. I am also the President of the Special Interest Group on Building Educational Applications (SIGEDU) of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL).

Prior to that, I have been working as a post-doctoral researcher at the ALTA (Automated Language Teaching and Assessment) Institute, University of Cambridge, focusing on the development of educational applications for second language learners. My research contributed to the building of Read & Improve, a readability tool for non-native readers of English.

I hold a PhD in Natural Language Processing and an MPhil in Advanced Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, an MA degree in Computational Linguistics from the University of Tübingen, and a diploma in Applied Linguistics from St. Petersburg State University.
