Membership

SIGANN membership is 137 members.

Officers

Amir Zeldes (Georgetown University) and Ines Rehbein (Universität Mannheim) were re-elected in November to a second term as President and Secretary respectively.

Committee

The SIGANN Committee is comprised of past and present Program Committee Chairs for SIGANN's annual workshop, the Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW). The committee currently includes Claire Bonial, Stefanie Dipper, Annemarie Friedrich, Sophie Henning, Chu-Ren Huang, Jena DC Hwang, Nancy Ide, Sandra Kübler, Lori Levin, Adam Meyers, Antonio Pareja-Lora, Siyao Peng, Massimo Poesio, Sameer Pradhan, Jakob Prange, Ines Rehbein, Nathan Schneider, Manfred Stede, Katrin Tomanek, Fei Xia, Nianwen Xue, Amir Zeldes, Deniz Zeyrek and Heike Zinsmeister.

Workshop

The SIG's major activity is the organization of the annual workshop. In 2025 the Eighteenth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW-XIX) will be held in person and in hybrid virtual format in conjunction with ACL 2025 in Vienna, Austria in August, by PC chairs Ines Rehbein and Siyao Peng. The workshop received 61 submissions, as detailed on the workshop website:

The special theme for the workshop is "subjectivity and variation in linguistic annotations", with invited talks by Jessy Li (UT Austin) and Rotem Dror (University of Haifa).
