The ACL 2024 will be held in Bangkok from August 11-16, 2024. The final decision about the venue is pending.
I organize a panel discussion at ACL 2023 on the future of NLP in the era of Large Language Models. The panel will be part of the ACL 2023 business meeting. Topics include:
- New opportunities (e.g., artificial general intelligence, responsible NLP)
- Technical challenges (e.g., multimodality, instruction-tuning, etc.)
- Real life problems & societal implications (e.g., hallucinations, biases, future job market)
- LLMs and the future of NLP
- Open-science vs. commercial LLMs
ARR process:
- Discussions with the ARR have continued
- ACL has approved a budget to support the technical development; ARR processes were improved
- ACL 2024 and NAACL 2024 will be ARR-only
