  • Aim (see 2020-Q1 report)[1]

1. Continued working on social media streamlining including new presence in Asia. Twitter: besides @aclmeeting, we have now new persistent accounts for @eaclmeeting and @naaclmeeting.

2. With the initiative and help from the ACL 2020 publicity chairs (Emily Bender, Esther Seyffarth) a third publicity co-chair was recruited and set up a Weibo account to strengthen our reach to China. This account was set up by Zhiyuan Liu (Tsinghua University) who also volunteerd to keep this presence up beyond ACL 2020. A big thanks to all ACL 2020 publicity chairs

3. Renamed the Instagram account to "aclmeeting" (from "aclnlp") to align it with the Twitter handle. As ACL 2020 was online due to the pandemic and Instagram is mostly active only during an ACL meeting, it was decided to not use it during this years' conference.

4. We are continuing to work on the handbook and publicizing efforts in the coming year, which includes the planned blog posts on the new ACL portal page. Moreover, we are working on a survey to collect NLP group information.
