Joakim Nivre is Professor of Computational Linguistics at Uppsala University. His research focuses on data-driven methods for syntax and morphology, in particular dependency parsing. He served as secretary for EACL 2009-2012 and will be president of ACL in 2017. He was program chair for EACL in 2009 and local arrangement chairs for ACL 2010.
