James Martin is a Professor of Computer Science and a Fellow in the Institute of Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research involves Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a focus on computational semantics and its application to to problems in medical informatics, crisis informatics, and educational technology. He is the co-author with Dan Jurafsky of the leading textbook for natural language processing: Speech and Language Processing: An Introduction to Natural Language Processing, Computational Linguistics and Speech Recognition.
