Engaged in collaborative research on the linguistic structure of American Sign Language and on computer-based sign language recognition from video. In conjunction with this research, and as part of the American Sign Language Linguistic Research Project (ASLLRP, http://www.bu.edu/asllrp/), computational tools for linguistic analysis of sign language (SignStream®) are being developed, and our linguistically annotated video corpora are shared on the Web - for use in computer science and linguistic research.
