CL Distinguished Reviewer Award

The Computational Linguistics Distinguished Reviewer Award (short form: CL Distinguished Reviewer Award) aims to highlight and promote high standards in peer review, and to acknowledge reviewers whose contributions have had a meaningful impact on the quality of the Computational Linguistics journal. The award was introduced in 2026.

About the Award

  • Recognition: Awardees are featured on the Computational Linguistics website, as well as on social media platforms (LinkedIn and Bluesky), and receive a certificate.
  • Presentation: The awards are announced and presented at the ACL conference each year.

Selection Process

  1. Action editors of Computational Linguistics nominate potential candidates.
  2. The Editor-in-Chief, together with colleagues from the editorial office, identifies qualifying candidates from the nominations.

Selection Criteria

  • Quality of the review: for example, whether it offers insightful and well-articulated comments, or identifies major issues that help maintain the high standards of Computational Linguistics.
  • Responsiveness of the reviewer.
