8th IJCAI WORKSHOP ON KNOWLEDGE AND REASONING IN PRACTICAL DIALOGUE SYSTEMS

Dialogue Systems'' will focus on challenges arising due to comprehension
difficulties in dialogue systems. These difficulties include speech
recognition errors and speech disfluencies in spoken dialogue systems,
syntax errors, out-of-grammar and out-of-vocabulary phenomena, rambling
discourse, as well as non-cooperative dialogues. Topics addressed in
the workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Approaches for identifying different types of comprehension
IWSDS-Paralinguistic Information and its Integration in Spoken Dialogue Systems

It will provide an international forum for the presentation of research and applications and for lively discussions among researchers as well as industrialists.

The Young Researchers' Roundtable on Spoken Dialogue Systems (YRRSDS) is an annual
workshop designed for graduate students, post-docs and junior researchers working in research
related to spoken dialogue systems in both academia and industry. The YRRSDS provides an
open forum where participants can discuss their research interests, current work and future
plans. Previous workshops have been co-located with SIGdial or InterSpeech, and YRRSDS’10
