We are happy to announce the 1st Shared task on Morphosyntactic Parsing, to be held jointly with Syntaxfest 2025.

Morphosyntactic parsing redefines the content-function boundary to differentiate 'morphological' from 'syntactic' elements. In our morphosyntactic data structure, content words are represented as separate nodes on a dependency graph, even if they share a whitespace-separated word, and both function words and morphemes contribute morphology-style features to characterise the nodes. This makes our format independent of wordhood decisions which are not well-defined across languages.

Interested parties are invited to join the mailing list to be involved in the competition. Participating teams will be invited to submit a paper describing their work to the workshop at SyntaxFest and to present it in a special session in the workshop.

Overview:

Videos have become an omnipresent source of knowledge: courses, presentations, conferences, documentaries, livestreams, meeting recordings, vlogs. This has created a strong demand for transcript understanding. However, the quality of audio and video content shared online and the nature of speech, video transcripts pose many challenges to the existing natural language processing technologies.

The ACL Special Interest Group on Natural Language Parsing (SIGPARSE) invites submissions to its biennial conference on parsing technologies. IWPT 2021 will be the 17th conference in a series that started in 1989. The conference will be held as a virtual event at ACL-IJCNLP on August 5 or 6, 2021.

With the recent advances in the field of Computational Linguistics (CL) brought on by rapid developments in neural models, the goal of this conference is to focus on the application of AI/ML in NLP and CL. The ACLing 2021 aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, researchers and practitioners from all over the world to exchange new ideas and the latest results in Computational Linguistics and NLP; a field that has become increasingly important. The scope of the conference encompasses the theory and practice of all aspects of AI/ML in Computational Linguistics.

Universal Dependencies (UD; https://www.universaldependencies.org) is a framework for cross-linguistically consistent treebank annotation that has so far been applied to 90 languages.

Following the success of the First FNP 2018 at LREC’18, Japan, we have had a great deal of positive feedback and interest in continuing the development of the financial narrative processing field. This prompted us to hold a training workshop in textual analysis methods for financial narratives that was oversubscribed showing that there is an increasing interest in the subject. As a result, we are now motivated to organise the Second Financial Narrative Processing Workshop, FNP 2019.
