Call for Participation: 15th KONVENS (8-11 Oct 2019, Erlangen, Germany)

Conference registration for the 15th KONVENS (9–11 October 2019, Erlangen, Germany) is open now.  Erlangen is quite busy during the conference and most hotel rooms for the conference are only blocked until end of August, so please register at your earliest convenience. The EARLY BIRD rate expires on August 31st.

CORPUS STATISTICS TUTORIAL

We are happy to invite you to participate in the tutorial "Corpus Statistics with R" on 8 October 2019 as part of KONVENS 2019 at Erlangen. The full-day tutorial starts with a general introduction to R and its use for corpus linguistics in the morning, followed by advanced statistical methods (regression models and time series analysis) in the afternoon. Participants who are already familiar with R are welcome to attend the afternoon session only.

The tutorial will be taught by Andreas Blombach, Philipp Heinrich and Stefan Evert (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg).

OUTLINE

09:30 – 11:00: Working with R & RStudio

11:30 – 13:00: Analyzing corpus frequency data

14:30 – 16:00: Linear and mixed effects models

16:30 – 18:00: Time series analysis

PARTICIPATION
