The ACL stands with its Black community to affirm that Black lives matter and to condemn racial injustice in the USA and worldwide, including targeted racially motivated violence of any kind (physical, mental, emotional), and academic structures that prevent our Black scientists from thriving in our community.  In particular, in solidarity with the Black community in North America, the ACL mourns for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, and thousands of Black people who have lost their lives to this violence.
