Membership

SIGANN membership is 138 members.

Officers

Amir Zeldes (Georgetown University) and Ines Rehbein (Universität Mannheim) were re-elected in November 2025 to a second term as President and Secretary respectively.

Committee

The SIGANN Committee is comprised of past and present Program Committee Chairs for SIGANN's annual workshop, the Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW). The committee currently includes Claire Bonial, Stefanie Dipper, Annemarie Friedrich, Luke Gessler, Sophie Henning, Chu-Ren Huang, Jena DC Hwang, Nancy Ide, Sandra Kübler, Lori Levin, Adam Meyers, Yang Janet Liu, Antonio Pareja-Lora, Siyao Peng, Massimo Poesio, Sameer Pradhan, Jakob Prange, Ines Rehbein, Nathan Schneider, Manfred Stede, Katrin Tomanek, Fei Xia, Nianwen Xue, Amir Zeldes, Deniz Zeyrek and Heike Zinsmeister.

Workshop

The SIG's major activity is the organization of the annual workshop. In 2026 the Twentieth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW-XX) will be held in person and in hybrid virtual format in conjunction with ACL 2026 in San Diego, CA in July, by PC chairs Luke Gessler (IU) and Yang Janet Liu (Pitt). The workshop accepted 22 papers, as detailed on the workshop website:

The special theme for the workshop is "Errors in Annotation", with invited talks by Marie-Catherine de Marneffe (UCLouvain) and Rachel Rudinger (UMD).
