The SIG currently has 168 members and it still operated under the founding officers.
The main activity of the SIG MT is the organization of the 3rd Conference on Statistical Machine Translation (WMT, formerly a workshop), which includes 7 official shared tasks. The conference will take place in October in association with the EMNLP conference.
