The SIG currently has 162 members and it still operated under the founding officers.
The main activity of the SIG MT is the organization of the 2nd Conference on Statistical Machine Translation (WMT, formerly a workshop), which includes 8 official shared tasks. The conference will take place in September in association with the EMNLP conference.
