Our raw submission numbers appear to keep the healthy trend of previous years. In the period between March 2016 to May 2017, we have received 139 first submissions and resubmissions, of which 82 were rejected as not suitable, 5 were accepted in the time period, 11 had to resubmit and 12 rejected; 29 are still under review. Overall we have handled 173 papers in this period (including resubmissions), of which 19 were accepted, and 32 are still under review.

We have in the works a special issue on "'Language in Social Media: Exploiting discourse and other contextual information"[1]. Guest editors are Farah Benamara - IRIT, Toulouse University (benamara AT irit.fr), Diana Inkpen - University of Ottawa (diana.inkpen AT uottawa.ca) and Maite Taboada - Simon Fraser University (mtaboada AT sfu.ca).

Average time to final decision during this perios is 61 days, and average time to final decision (excluding "reject (not suitable)") is 186 days. We received submissions from 41 different countries, the most represented being Finland, Iraq, Ireland, Spain, Portugal.

We welcome a new Squibs editor, Mike White, from Ohio State University. We thank Pierre Isabelle for the many years of being the Squibs editor for CL.

We also welcome a new editorial assistant, Cristina Grisot, that replaces the very efficient and ever-patient Sharid Loaiciga.
