The SIG currently has 152 members and it still operated under the founding officers.
Currently plans for an election of new officers have been postponed and will be discussed at the 1st Conference on Statistical Machine Translation.
The main activity of the SIG MT is the organization of the 1st Conference on Statistical Machine Translation (WMT, formerly a workshop), which includes 10 official shared tasks. The conference will take place in August in association with the ACL conference.
