(The 2012 nominating committee consists of Steven Bird, Ido Dagan, and Kevin Knight)
The nominating committee has two jobs in 2012:
1) Nominate candidates for VP-elect and member-at-large. The candidate who takes the latter position is signing up to be the Exec's Information Officer for their term.
2) Process ACL Fellow nominations. Nominations that are entered by October 1, 2012 will be considered before December.
In addition, two nominating committee members (Dagan and Knight) serve on the Lifetime Achievement Award Nominating Committee along with ACL VP (Wang), VP-elect (van Noord), and President (Church). VP Wang chairs this committee, which proposes a Lifetime Achievement Awardee to the Exec, ideally in the fall of 2012.
