Exec elections
The elections to the following positions are ongoing:
- ACL Secretary. Candidates: Saif Mohammad and Derek Wong
- ACL Member. Candidates: Mausam and Roy Schwartz
- VP Elect. Candidates: Min Zhang and Yue Zhang.
ACL Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed upon Fernando Pereira from Google Research in USA, in recognition of multiple fundamental research accomplishments which span both a time range of roughly 40 years and an intellectual range from unification grammars to today’s LLMs.

Dragomir Radev Distinguished Service Award
The nomination committee recommends giving this award every two years, since we struggle with having enough nominations.

- May 12: Meeting between the exec and EMNLP PCs to discuss the desk-rejection of papers with hallucinated references.
- May 21: Meeting between the exec, ARR, EMNLP and AACL PCs to discuss the reviewing situation for EMNLP and AACL.
- June 6: Meeting between the exec, ARR, and COLING and NAACL PCs to discuss whether COLING should be allowed to use ARR.
