Membership

SIGLEX currently has 562 members. SIGLEX has two sections: Multiword Expressions (MWE) and SemEval. The MWE section has [??] members.

Officers

The current SIGLEX Executive Board includes the following officers:

President: Marianna Apidianaki, University of Pennsylvania, USA & CNRS, University Aix-Marseille, France

Secretary: Tiago Torrent, Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil

Vice-President: Alessandro Lenci, University of Pisa, Italy

Vice-Secretary: Steven Schockaert, Cardiff University, UK

MWE section representative: Verginica Barbu Mititelu, Romanian Academy Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Romania

SemEval section representative: Xiaodan Zhu, Queen's University, Canada

Note: All officers are serving until Fall 2026.

Elections

A SIGLEX election is held in June 2026 to elect a new Vice-President and a new Vice-Secretary. These positions will require a four-year commitment (2 years as Vice-President or Vice Secretary, and then 2 years as President and Secretary). A call for nominations was sent out on March, 1 2026 and closed on April, 2 2026. The election began on June, 1 2026 and will run until July, 1 2026.


Events

SIGLEX organizes three yearly events:

  • *SEM 2026: The 15th Joint Conference on Lexical and Computational Semantics will be co-located with ACL 2026 in San Diego, California, US, on July 3, 2026. It is organized by general chair Mark Stevenson and program chairs Saif Mohammad and Nedjma Ousidhoum. The conference will be hybrid. There will be two keynote speakers. The proceedings of the conference will be made available in the ACL Anthology.
  • SemEval 2026: The 20th International Workshop on Semantic Evaluation will be co-located with ACL 2026 in San Diego, California, US, on July 3 and 4, 2026. It will be organized by Debanjan Ghosh, Kai North, Shervin Malmasi, Ekaterina Kochmar, Mamoru Komachi, and Marcos Zampieri. The evaluation features 14 tasks with approximately [??] participants for all tasks combined. The proceedings of the workshop will be made available in the ACL Anthology.
  • MWE 2026: The 22nd edition of the MWE workshop was co-located with EACL 2026 in Rabat, Marocco on March, 28 2026. It was organized by Verginica Barbu Mititelu, A. Seza Doğruöz, Alexandre Rademaker, Atul Kr. Ojha, Ivelina Stoyanova, and Mathieu Constant. The workshop received [...] submissions, of which [...] were accepted after peer review. It featured oral and online presentations, one best paper award, and hosted one [??] keynote. It attracted [...] onsite and [...] online registered participants. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the ACL Anthology.
