2020Q3 Reports: ACL 2021
The Joint Conference of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics and the 10th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing (ACL-IJCNLP 2021) will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, during August 1-6, 2021. The conference venue will be the Berkeley Hotel (https://www.berkeleypratunam.com/). The work we have done until now can be summarized as follows:
- The homepage of conference has been built and it works: https://2021.aclweb.org/.
- Almost the all organization chairs have been selected and fixed, including two tutorial chairs, two workshop chairs, two demo chairs, three student research workshop chairs and 4 faculty advisors to the student workshop, three publications chairs, one publicity chair, one handbook chair, two local sponsorship chairs, two audio-video chairs, 4 diversity & inclusion (D&I) chairs, three remote presentation chairs, two sustainability chairs, one student volunteer coordinator, and two website & conference app chairs. More chairs will be added for the subcommittees in D&I. I am happy that Martha Yifiru (martha.yifiru@aau.edu.et) from Ethiopia, Alvin Grissom (https://www.ursinus.edu/live/profiles/3125-alvin-grissom-ii) from USA, and Alexis Palmer (https://www.cl.uni-heidelberg.de/~palmer/) from Germany have agreed to join us as D&I co-chair.
- Now the tutorial co-chairs and workshop co-chairs are preparing the call-for-proposals in coordinating with EACL’2021, NAACL’2021 and EMNLP’2021. It is very important to successfully organize a top-tier conference in cooperation with the related big events.
