Publicity Chairs Report (Kan, Min-Yen and Way, Andy)

We have launched the blog for the conference. Chris Henry has been manning the work and has gotten some posts from the committee as well as his friends and others for the work. We have had over 2,000 visitors read about the conference, local information about Singapore as well as articles about CL/NLP in general for the layman.

Recently, we have composed, edited and distributed out two calls for participation to various mailing lists. The second (which went out this week) incorporates the invited talks titles and names of the speakers. We have also been heavily involved in circulating past calls for papers, exhibits, software demos and other items for ACL-IJCNLP on behalf of various parties.

With early registration finished, Andy is composing short coverage newsletters to send to all ACL members and ACL-IJCNLP 2009 registered parties to keep them informed of timely information as well as particular facts about the conference that are also being distributed by the blog.

Min is also working on contacting local press for coverage of the event, and the press releases.

Min is also been charged with compiling the conference handbook. He has taken the LaTeX template from ACL 08 and has been customizing it for ACL-IJCNLP 09. The current handbook should run about 200 A5 sized pages, as it incorporates the schedules of every event as well as abstracts of full papers from ACL-ICJNLP/EMNLP.
