This report covers the sponsorship landscape for the three 2026 ACL conferences (EACL 2026, ACL 2026, and EMNLP 2026), following on from the previous Sponsorship Director report (2025 Q1). It is a working draft: the sections on duties, pain points, and next steps are placeholders for Joel to complete, while the sponsor data and statistics have been compiled from each conference's public sponsors page as of July 1, 2026.

Duties of the Sponsorship Director

[DRAFT – Joel to complete: summarize responsibilities, sponsorship committee structure, and any changes to the role since the 2025 Q1 report.]

Pain Points and Next Steps

[DRAFT – Joel to complete: pain points encountered this cycle, action items for ACL Exec, recommendations for future Sponsorship Directors.]

Current Sponsors for 2026 Conferences

Sponsor lists below were pulled from each conference's public sponsors page on July 1, 2026. EACL 2026's sponsorship deadline (Feb 6, 2026) has passed, so its list is effectively final. ACL 2026 is largely filled out. EMNLP 2026's sponsorship deadline is September 11, 2026, so its list is still growing — the figures below are a snapshot, not a final count.

EACL 2026

Tier Sponsors
Platinum Megagon Labs, Appen, Oracle
Bronze ELRA, Translated, Orange, Rise Data Labs

Total: 7 sponsors across 2 tiers (no Diamond, Gold, or Silver tier sponsors this cycle).

ACL 2026

Tier Sponsors
Diamond Bloomberg, Capital One, Alibaba Cloud
Platinum Megagon Labs, Appen, Meta, Oracle, Apple, Baidu, Tencent, Ant Group, Google, Snowflake, Zhongguancun Academy, Abaka AI
Gold Chen Institute, JP Morgan Chase, Speak, StepFun
Silver Adobe
Bronze Translated, NatWest Group, ARC, Babelscape, DATAmundi, NEC
Academic Ally Apple, University of Washington

Total: 28 sponsor slots (27 unique organizations – Apple appears in both Platinum and Academic Ally). ACL 2026 is by far the largest sponsorship program of the three 2026 conferences.

EMNLP 2026

Tier Sponsors
Diamond Bloomberg, Google
Platinum Megagon Labs, Oracle, Apple, Baidu, Capital One, Cohere
Gold JP Morgan Chase
Silver Adobe
Bronze Translated, DataOcean AI, Booking.com
Academic Ally Apple

Total: 14 sponsor slots (13 unique organizations) as of July 1, 2026. With the sponsorship deadline still two months out (Sept 11, 2026), this total should grow before the final report.

Patterns and Statistics

Sponsorship volume by conference

Conference Sponsor slots Unique orgs Tiers filled
EACL 2026 7 7 2 (Platinum, Bronze)
ACL 2026 28 27 6 (Diamond–Bronze, Academic Ally)
EMNLP 2026 14 13 6 (Diamond–Bronze, Academic Ally)
Total 49 33 unique orgs overall

Cross-conference sponsors

Of the 33 distinct organizations sponsoring at least one 2026 conference, most sponsor only one event. A smaller "core" group spans two or all three conferences — useful to track since these are ACL's most committed, multi-conference sponsors:

Coverage Count Organizations
All 3 conferences 3 orgs Megagon Labs, Oracle, Translated
2 of 3 conferences 8 orgs Adobe, Appen, Apple, Baidu, Bloomberg, Capital One, Google, JP Morgan Chase
1 conference only 22 orgs Remaining sponsors, including most Bronze/Academic Ally entries and several first-time names this cycle (see below)

Note: Appen sponsors EACL + ACL but not (yet) EMNLP; the other seven double-sponsors pair ACL with EMNLP but skip EACL — consistent with EACL historically being the smallest of the three programs.

Notable trends vs. prior cycles

  • Growth at EACL: 7 sponsors this cycle vs. 5 for EACL 2024 (Megagon, Bloomberg, Snowflake, Babelscape, HITS gGmbH per the 2024 report).
  • Growth at ACL: 28 sponsor slots vs. roughly 23 for ACL 2024 — continued expansion at the top of the program, though the composition of the Diamond tier has shifted (Apple, Google, LG AI Research, Meta, and NewsBreak held Diamond in 2024; for 2026 only Bloomberg, Capital One, and Alibaba Cloud hold Diamond, with Apple, Google, and Meta moving down to Platinum and LG AI Research/NewsBreak not returning at that tier).
  • EMNLP looks lighter so far (14 vs. 17 slots in 2024), but its deadline hasn't passed yet — not a like-for-like comparison until closer to September.
  • Rise of China-based tech/AI sponsors: Alibaba Cloud, Baidu, Tencent, Zhongguancun Academy, Abaka AI, and StepFun all appear in the ACL 2026 sponsor list — six organizations, versus two or three in a typical prior cycle. Worth flagging as a trend for outreach and diversification planning.
  • New sponsor names this cycle (not present in the 2024/2025 lists reviewed): Tencent, Zhongguancun Academy, Abaka AI, Speak, StepFun, NatWest Group, ARC, DATAmundi, Rise Data Labs, Orange, ELRA, and Booking.com — a healthy number of new entrants alongside the recurring "core" sponsors.
  • Conference roster changed: the 2025 Q1 report tracked NAACL 2025 and IJCNLP-AACL 2025 alongside ACL/EMNLP; the 2026 cycle reviewed here is EACL, ACL, and EMNLP only. Confirm with Joel whether NAACL/AACL simply fall outside this reporting window or aren't running sponsorship in 2026.

Data gaps to fill in before finalizing

  • Dollar commitments: the conference websites don't list sponsorship dollar amounts. The 2025 Q1 report included per-conference totals (e.g., ACL 2024: $558,866); Joel's internal tracking spreadsheet will be needed to add comparable $ figures for 2026.
  • Name normalization: "Megagon"/"Megagon Labs," and "DATAmundi"/"DataOcean AI" are treated as distinct entities above where the branding differs — worth double-checking against sponsor invoices.
  • EACL's "Orange" and "Rise Data Labs" listings shared a near-identical logo file name on the site; confirmed as two separate sponsors from the linked company sites, but worth a quick sanity check.
  • Pending/uncommitted leads (companies contacted but not yet confirmed) aren't visible from public sponsor pages — pull from the tracking spreadsheet if that context is wanted.
