Submissions to the journal grew by 48% in 2025, and this growth has continued into 2026.
To support the growth in submissions, we expanded our standing reviewer pool by 65%. We would like to thank the ARR Editors-in-Chief for their support with this expansion.

At the same time, we have continued to improve the editorial process, including further reducing the time required for desk-rejection decisions.
While the time to first decision for fully reviewed papers increased slightly by 7%, partly because we have additional quality controls for the reviewing process, we’ve made desk rejections much faster. The average time dropped by 36%.
