The SIG's major activity is the organization of the South East Asian Language Processing (SEALP) workshop and birds-of-a-feathers sessions for SEA NLP. In 2025, the 2nd SEALP was co-located with COLING 2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE and organized by Derry Wijaya, Alham Fikri Aji, Clara Vania, Genta Indra Winata, Ayu Purwarianti. The workshop received 61 submissions, as detailed on the workshop website:

Holy Lovenia (SEACrowd) and Fajri Koto (MBZUAI) were the founding officers as President and Secretary respectively.
