New page

== IJCNLP-AACL 2025 ==
'''Background''': The 14th IJCNLP & 4th AACL was held in Mumbai, India, from December 20th to December 24th, 2025. The joint IJCNLP and AACL conferences follow an alternating leadership structure within the Asia-Pacific region: the Asian Federation of Natural Language Processing (AFNLP) leads the organization in odd-numbered years, while AACL takes the lead in even-numbered years. In years when the annual ACL meeting is held in the region, the event is organized solely by ACL. For 2025, the conference was primarily organized by AFNLP.

'''Hybrid Conference''': The event adopted a hybrid format, providing participants the flexibility to attend in person or engage remotely from around the globe. Final statistics indicate a total of 638 attendees for IJCNLP-AACL 2025, comprising 327 on-site participants and 311 virtual attendees.

'''Submission and Acceptance''': IJCNLP-AACL 2025 utilized the ACL Rolling Review (ARR) as its submission platform. This year, the conference received a record-breaking 1,456 submissions—2.6 times the previous AACL high. Following the ARR review cycle, 450 papers (354 long and 96 short) were committed to the conference for consideration. After a rigorous evaluation, 232 papers (193 long and 39 short) were accepted to the main conference, representing an acceptance rate of 19%. An additional 146 papers (113 long and 33 short) were accepted to Findings, an acceptance rate of 12%. The overall acceptance rate, including both categories, stands at 31%.

== AACL-IJCNLP 2026 ==
'''Conference Coordination Committee''': The joint AACL-IJCNLP conference is primarily organized by AACL in 2026. The AACL-IJCNLP 2026 CCC is chaired by Xuanjing Huang (Fudan, AACL Chair). The committee members include Maggie Li (PolyU, AACL Chair-elect), Thepchai Supnithi (NECTEC, AACL Secretary), Lun-Wei Ku (Academia Sinica, AACL Member-at-Large and Conference Officer), Mark Dras (Macquarie, AACL Treasurer), and Min Zhang (HIT Shenzhen, AFNLP Representative).

'''Venue and Dates''': In September 2025, preliminary proposals for AACL-IJCNLP 2026 were received from three prospective locations: Macau (China), Chiang Mai (Thailand), and Nara (Japan). While all three applications were outstanding and demonstrated strong potential for future AACL/IJCNLP events, the committee recommends Macau as the host city based on its venue capacity and proven track record with ACL-affiliated conferences. AACL-IJCNLP 2026 is scheduled for November 6–9, 2026. The conference will be organized by the University of Macau and held at the Chimelong Hengqin Bay International Convention Center in Hengqin, Zhuhai, China.

'''Conference Organization''': The organizational leadership has been finalized. Yue Zhang (Westlake University) will serve as the General Chair (GC). The Program Chairs (PCs) will be Ayu Purwarianti (Institut Teknologi Bandung), Tong Rong (Singapore Institute of Technology), Jun Suzuki (Tohoku University), and Ruifeng Xu (Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen).
