SIGANN membership is 141 members.

After being electedd in October 2021, Amir Zeldes (Georgetown University) and Ines Rehbein (Universität Mannheim) continued as President and Secretary respectively.

== Committee ==

== Workshop ==

The SIG's major activity is the organization of the annual workshop. In 2023 the Seventeenth Linguistic Annotation Workshop (LAW-XVII) will be held in person and in hybrid virtual format in conjunction with ACL 2023, on July 13, 2023 in Toronto, by PC chairs Annemarie Friedrich and Jakob Prange. The workshop has received over 50 submissions and will feature 26 talks and posters, as detailed on the workshop website:

The special theme for the workshop is Ethics and Annotation, with three invited talks by Emily M. Bender (University of Washington, US), Lilian Wanzare (Maseno University, Kenya) and Anne Lauscher (University of Hamburg, Germany).

== SIGANN GUIDO - A Repository of Annotation Guidelines ==

In an initiative led by Annemarie Friedrich in collaboration with Ines Rehbein, Nathan Schneider and Amir Zeldes, a pilot repository to index different annotation guidelines has been started at https://sigann.github.io/guido/. We are hoping to gather community support to expand this resource and make annotation guidelines more easily accessible and findable online.

== Website and mailing list ==

We have a working website that lists upcoming events of interest to our members and links to LAW proceedings. The website was updated in this reporting period and is now found at:

https://sigann.github.io/

We also have a mailing list that is used for notices and discussion.
