proposed by the nominating committee of Hwee Tou Ng and outgoing<br />
Chair Dan Jurafsky. After soliciting additional nominations from<br />
the membership, the slate of candidates was presented to the membership<br />
for vote. The slate of officers was overwhelmingly approved. The<br />
following officers will serve two year terms from January 2012 - December<br />
2013,<br />
consistent with the SIGHAN constitution.<br />

Preparations are underway for the Second CIPS-SIGHAN Joint Conference<br />
on Chinese Language Processing (CLP2012), co-organized by the Chinese<br />
Information Processing Society of China and ACL SIGHAN. The conference<br />
will be held in conjunction with the Asia Information Retrieval Symposium<br />
(AIRS 2012) in Tianjin, China, December 20-21, 2012. The General<br />
Chairs are Le Sun and Hsin-Hsi Chen. Another installment of the<br />
series of the SIGHAN Chinese Language Processing Bakeoffs will also<br />
be organized in conjunction with CLP2012. The Bakeoff will feature<br />
four main tasks: Micro-blog word segmentation, Chinese personal name<br />
disambiguation, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese parsing. These<br />
tasks are coordinated by Sui Zhifang, Wang Houfeng, Zhou Qiang,<br />
Yu Liang-Chih, Yuen-Hsien Tseng, and Liang-Chih Yu.</div>Ahakim
