proposed by the nominating committee of Hwee Tou Ng and outgoing&lt;br /&gt;
Chair Dan Jurafsky.  After soliciting additional nominations from&lt;br /&gt;
the membership, the slate of candidates was presented to the membership&lt;br /&gt;
for vote.  The slate of officers was overwhelmingly approved.  The&lt;br /&gt;
following officers will serve two year terms from January 2012 - December&lt;br /&gt;
2013,&lt;br /&gt;
consistent with the SIGHAN constitution.&lt;br /&gt;

Preparations are underway for the Second CIPS-SIGHAN Joint Conference&lt;br /&gt;
on Chinese Language Processing (CLP2012), co-organized by the Chinese&lt;br /&gt;
Information Processing Society of China and ACL SIGHAN.  The conference&lt;br /&gt;
will be held in conjunction with the Asia Information Retrieval Symposium&lt;br /&gt;
(AIRS 2012) in Tianjin, China, December 20-21, 2012.  The General&lt;br /&gt;
Chairs are Le Sun and Hsin-Hsi Chen.  Another installment of the&lt;br /&gt;
series of the SIGHAN Chinese Language Processing Bakeoffs will also&lt;br /&gt;
be organized in conjunction with CLP2012.  The Bakeoff will feature&lt;br /&gt;
four main tasks: Micro-blog word segmentation, Chinese personal name&lt;br /&gt;
disambiguation, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese parsing.  These&lt;br /&gt;
tasks are coordinated by Sui Zhifang, Wang Houfeng, Zhou Qiang,&lt;br /&gt;
Yu Liang-Chih, Yuen-Hsien Tseng, and Liang-Chih Yu.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
