New page

The SIG did not meet this year (last meeting was held with LREC in 2010).
A new Information Officer, Michael Gasser (School of Informatics and Computing and the Cognitive Science Program at Indiana University), was elected in 2010.
The Chair office will be up for elections this year.
With the Exec's permission, we are moving towards a change in our constitution that will facilitate more streamlined election process, removing some of the nationality/language-community constraints imposed on the SIG when it was founded. Voting on this issue is ongoing.
We plan a meeting for 2012, probably co-located with either EACL or LREC.
The SIG has over 200 members, an active (but low-key) mailing list and a compliant web site.
