=EACL 2012=<br />
<br />
In answer to the Call for Bid issued on March 2009, the EACL board has<br />
received 3 bids for hosting the EACL 2012 conference. All of the<br />
three bids have been added to the short list and feedback on the<br />
drafts has been sent out on November 2009. The board is now waiting<br />
for the final bids, which are due on January 22, 2010. Deadline for<br />
notification to bidders is March 26, 2010.<br />

=Policy on EACL conference schedule=<br />
<br />
Upon a request from the ACL exececutive committee, through the Sudoku<br />
committee, the EACL board has decided to adopt a new policy for the<br />
schedule of the EACL conferences. Accordingly, starting with year<br />
2014, the stand-alone EACL conferences will be held in those years in<br />
which the ACL conference takes place in the American Region. This<br />
policy will contribute to equalizing the number of CL conferences held<br />
each year.<br />

=EACL newsletter=<br />
<br />
Since 2006 EACL has been issuing one newsletter per year, reporting on<br />
main CL events taking place in Europe and geographically related<br />
areas. With the main goal of reviving its relationships with the<br />
several regional CL organizations in Europe, the EACL board has now<br />
decided to add a second newsletter per year, reporting on the regional<br />
conferences organized by these associations. This will start with<br />
year 2010.<br />
