Report for ACL 2025 System Demonstrations Track
The web site for ACL 2025 System Demonstrations Track is: https://2025.aclweb.org/calls/system_demonstration/, which includes details about submissions, deadlines, reviewing policy and important dates. We encouraged authors to include visual aids (e.g., screenshots, snapshots, or diagrams) in their papers. In addition to the submitted paper, a short (max. 2 minutes) video demonstrating the system was also required to be submitted. Unfortunately, we have identified that several submitted videos were done using text-to-speech or no voice over. We encourage the next year System Demonstrations' chairs to prohibit the use of TTS or videos with no audio. Following EMNLP 2024, we also required the authors to submit a linked to live demo or an installable package. Exceptions were allowed, such as specialized hardware, but the authors had to provide a justification. All submissions were single blind, in which authors were allowed to disclose their names and affiliations. We have also adopted the ethics policy from ACL 2025, honoring ACM Code of Ethics. The deadline for submissions was set to March 28, 2025, with notification of acceptance set to June 13, 2025.
We received a record 187 submissions, of which 178 papers were valid with required materials. We followed EMNLP 2024 and had both Area Chairs and reviewers. 20 Area Chairs and 150 reviewers accepted our invitation. Based on meta-reviews and reviews, we have accepted 64 papers, resulting in an acceptance rate of 34.22%, in line with previous years. From the accepted papers, we short-listed 7 papers for the Best System Demonstration award. We sincerely thank the members of the award committee for their invaluable contributions in determining the best system demonstration paper: Christopher Hidey, Junxian He, Rui Zhang, Milad Alshomary, and Phu Mon Htut. We have also compiled the proceedings for the demo track and coordinated with PC chairs to finalize the demo track’s schedule at the conference.
