The number of SIG is stable (32 as in 2025).
We have conducted a survey to receive feedback.

The increase interest on LLMs and AI is seen by some SIGs has causing changes. It seems there is less interest on linguistic-oriented work, and some SIGs are discussing how to move forward.

SIGs that consider themselves as (28.6%), besides organizing yearly event, have e.g. active mailing lis, the SIG leadership meets every two weeks, are trying to have stronger online/social media presence, are actively engaged with industry partner and run biweekly online seminar series, are planning new awards to highlight very promising researchers and/or impactful work in the field.

SIGs appreciate the event support they receive by ACL, the autonomy and ACL's hands-off approach, the ACL Anthology, and the financial and accounting services.

The amazing grow of *ACL conferences call for some reflection and improvement. Below some of the suggested proposals:

- Through ACL, SIG could receive more *visibilities outside the SIG circle*:
a) ACL could provide regular communication channels that highlight SIG activities. For example, ACL could periodically invite SIGs to contribute short reports, newsletters, blog-style articles, or community updates describing their ongoing initiatives, emerging research directions, and upcoming events. This would increase awareness of SIG activities, facilitate cross-community engagement, and help members discover SIGs that match their interests.
b) It might also be good to do a showcase of SIGs or some kind of SIG panel at ACL sometimes to introduce new ACL members to the existence of the SIGs and what they cover.
c) Some SIGs also have sections/areas during the main conferences (e.g. computational social science). It would be nice to get to know, how these sections/areas are defined

- Better information sharing and faster responses with ACL:
a) organize sharing session provided by any long-standing SIG once in a while so that all other SIGs can learn from their experiences.
b) provide documentation about some SIG-ACL processes
c) have a ticketing system

- *BIG SIGs* manage conferences rather than workshop. They would like this to be reflected
a) in the name of their event,
b) in being indexed in Scopus and other major bibliographic databases
c) easier procedure for a long-standing collocated conference
