SIGDAT, the ACL special interest group on Linguistic data and corpus-based approaches to NLP will be holding its annual conference, EMNLP-15 in Lisbon on September 17–21.

The general consensus of the SIGDAT standing committee is that NLP is large enough for another major conference, and it is generally a good idea to have conferences throughout the year. Thus our intention is to continue with the stand-alone model.

EMNLP 2015 is planned as a stand-alone conference in Lisbon, Portugal.

The workshop will take place in October in association with the EMNLP conference.

The main activity of the SIG MT was the organization of the '''7th Workshop on Statistical Machine Translation''', which includes three shared tasks, one for machine translation, one for evaluation metrics, and a new task for quality estimation methods. This year we have received 45 full paper submissions and 39 shared task submissions. In
total WMT-2012 featured 20 full paper oral presentations and 39 shared task poster presentations.

The main activity of the SIG MT was the organization of the 6th Workshop on Statistical Machine Translation, which includes three shared tasks, one for machine translation, one for system combination methods, and one for evaluation metrics. We doubled the number of submitted papers to the workshop from 24 to 48.

Reviewing of papers and staging of the workshop has not yet happened. It is co-hosted with EMNLP, July 30-31.

The main activity of the SIG MT was the organization of the 5th Workshop on Statistical Machine Translation, which includes two shared tasks, one for machine translation and one for system combination methods. We had broad participation for both shared tasks and also 24 paper submissions to the workshop, of which we accepted 18.

We were able to co-ordinate this event with NIST's MetricsMATR shared task. NIST is co-sponsoring the workshop and we share resources for the shared tasks.
