The current officers are Marine Carpuat (chair), Aline Villavicencio (secretary), Zeerak Waseem (communication with workshops and affinity groups). Elections will be held during the coming academic year for all positions.

EquiCL activities have continued to focus on connecting with organizers who work to improve diversity and inclusion around ACL conferences in various capacities to understand their needs, and how to support them. We advertised upcoming elections and have identified candidates who are interested in running.

We have not held elections yet, as we prioritize growing our membership first.

EquiCL activities this year have focused on connecting with organizers who work to improve diversity and inclusion around ACL conferences in various capacities to understand their needs, and how to support them.
* We organized a discussion session on June 11 during NAACL 2021. The goal was to bring together people who have already contributed to D&I efforts in the community, and to provide a forum to connect, share experiences and lessons learned, and discuss what can be done for others to build on prior efforts effectively. More than 30 people joined the discussion.
* We held a series of meetings with WiNLP organizers to understand how to support their work better.
* We are supporting an initiative by NAACL 2021 D&I co-chairs to have a open call for D&I co-chairs candidates for NAACL 2022, and helped circulate the call to about 50 previous D&I co-chairs and affinity group organizers.

We have established a website for EquiCL: http://equicl.org/ to start recruiting members. Current officers are Marine Carpuat (Interim Chair) and Aline Villavicencio (Interim Secretary). We are currently forming the advisory committee and planning elections for EquiCL officers.
