His research focuses on the distributional semantic models in order to build computational models of natural language for practical purposes, for example, information extraction in tasks such as terminology mining and classification. Before joining the University of Passau, he conducted research at the National University of Ireland, Queen’s University of Belfast as well as Iran University of Science and Technology. Behrang also has work experiences with companies such ISIS Forensics (NLP techniques for user profiling), Lexical Computing  (development of language resources for English-Farsi machine translation) as well as Artificial Intelligence Rayvarz (Farsi text-to-speech system).
