Call for Abstracts
Advances in Distributional Semantics Workshop
Co-located with the 11th International Conference on Computational Semantics (IWCS 2015)
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The Workshop on Advances in Distributional Semantics covers a broad range of areas aimed at bringing together researchers involved in all aspects of the field of distributional semantics. We invite the submission of abstracts. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
* Phrase and sentence-level distributional representations
* The use of syntax in distributional compositional models
* Type-logical and categorial models of grammar in relation to distributional semantics
* Distributional semantic models in relation to formal semantics
* Machine learning technqiues for distributional semantics, including e.g. neural networks and probabilistic representations
* The application of quantum theory to distributional semantics
* Uses of distributional representations in NLP tasks and applications
* Multi-modal learning for distributional representations, including e.g. image representations
INVITED SPEAKERS
* Katrin Erk (University of Texas at Austin)
* Zoubin Ghahramani (University of Cambridge)
* Michael Moortgat (Utrecht University)
* Hinrich Schuetze (University of Munich)
* Paul Smolensky (Johns Hopkins University)
ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS
Authors should submit an anonymized abstract of at most 2 pages of content, using the style files for the main IWCS conference. The submissions should be sent to: ads (at) googlegroups (dot) com. Abstract submissions will be evaluated by a committee made up of members of the EPSRC DisCo project, a full list of which will be made available on the workshop webpage. Authors of accepted abstracts
will present their work in poster form at the workshop. We will not be producing any official proceedings, but authors will have the option of having their abstracts put on the workshop web pages. Note that we are happy to accept submissions describing previously published work.
