It is with great sadness that we report the recent death of Susan Armstrong, who worked as Professor of translation technology at the University of Geneva until her retirement in 2014. She served as secretary to the European Chapter of the ACL from 1993­-2000, remaining on the Chapter’s nominating committee until 2004. She had a fundamental role in the founding and successful development of SIGDAT.

I am happy to announce the results of the elections for members of the ACL executive committee:

Marti A. Hearst (UC Berkeley, USA) has been elected as VP-Elect of ACL.

Jing-Shin Chang (National Chi Nan University, Taiwan) will be the new Information Officer and Shiqi Zhao (Baidu, China) will be the new Secretary.

Established in 2011, the ACL Fellows program recognizes ACL members whose contributions to the field have been most extraordinary.   To date, there are 32 members of the ACL that have been honored by the ACL as Fellows.  Today we are pleased to announce four new members who have been granted Fellow status, in recognition of their long standing contribution to the field of Computational Linguistics.  Please join us in congratulating our 2015 Fellows for their achievements.  They are (in alphab
