2001-2002 was a very active year for many of the ACL SIGs. Many of the
SIGs have grown to the extent that they are as large and as active as
the whole of ACL was not so long ago.

SIGDAT had not submitted a report by the time this summary was written.

SIGDIAL held elections in 2001. It sponsored or supported seven events
this year.

SIGGEN held elections in 2001. It is sponsoring one event this year.

SIGHAN held elections in 2001. It sponsored two events this year.

SIGLEX has set up a specialized subgroup, SENSEVAL, to run the SENSEVAL
workshops, and is sponsoring four events this year.

SIGMEDIA sponsored or supported three workshops or meetings this year.

SIGMOL had not submitted a report by the time that this summary was written.

SIGNLL held elections in 2001. It sponsored several events this year.

SIGPARSE had not submitted a report by the time this summary was written.

SIGPHON is running biannual workshops, including one co-sponsored by SIGNLL.

SIGSEM had not submitted a report by the time this summary was written.
