SIGHAN Report 2002

SIGHAN, the ACL Special Interest Group on Chinese Language Processing,
was approved by the Exec, Sunday July 8, 2001.

The SIG has a website: www.sighan.org. The constitution for SIGHAN can

The first slate of officers is as follows:

SIGHAN is officially involved in the following activities in 2002:

1. The First SIGHAN Workshop on Chinese Language Processing, to be
held September 1, 2002, in conjunction with COLING 2002, in Taipei.

2. Co-sponsorship of the tutorials on Computational Linguistics and
Chinese Chinese Language Processing, August 24, 2002 at COLING
2002. SIGHAN will be sponsoring at least two student fellowships
to attend these tutorials, funded by proceeds from the workshop.
